Apple & Pomegranate Spiced Bread
Take the beautiful flavours of apple and pomegranate and mix with a hint of spice to make this delicious bread that’s perfect for any occasion.
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 generous pinch fresh ground nutmeg
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
50g melted unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup milk
4 tablespoons of Baker Halls & Co.’s Apple and Pomegranate Fruit Syrup
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Mix all of the dry ingredients and break apart any brown sugar clumps. Melt the butter in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds.
Mix the melted butter with the Baker Halls & Co.’s Apple and Pomegranate Fruit Syrup to cool it down.
Beat the eggs and milk together, add the butter mixture and mix together. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Pour in the wet mixture and stir until just blended andonce all of the dry ingredients are wet. If you over mix the dough, the bread will become tough.
Pour the mixture into greased bread tins.
Bake for 50 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned and the bread is springy to the touch. Cool on a rack before removing from the pan.
