Blackcurrant Gooey Fruit Sauce
A thick tasty fruit sauce is the perfect compliment for cakes, pancakes, sweet pies, ice cream and much more. Made with any of the Baker Halls & Co.’s yummy fruit syrup flavours to best match your treat. Our favourite are the Baker Halls & Co.’s Blackcurrant or Cranberry & Blackcurrant flavours.
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup Baker Halls & Co.’s Blackcurrant or Cranberry & Blackcurrant.
2 teaspoons lemon juice
In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, fruit syrup, and lemon zest over medium heat.
Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer until the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the pan from the heat and allow the syrup to cool.
